Traceability
Batch traceability, identifiability
The ability to reconstruct what a product was made from, which processes it went through and where it went.
Backward tracing goes from the product to the raw material and serves to settle a complaint. Forward tracing goes from the raw material to the product and serves to limit the scope of a recall.
What it looks like in the system
Smart Trace builds the batch genealogy at the workstation, from labels and tags. Quality inspection results are attached to the batch.
