How we calculate it
- Planned time is the number of machines times hours per day times working days per year. Subtract breaks planned by the plant from the hours per day.
- You enter the machine hour cost yourself. Usually it is depreciation, energy, staffing and overhead, i.e. the rate from your quotation calculation.
- OEE losses are not just stops. A slower rate and rejects eat time too, so we show them as an equivalent of planned hours.
- The result is the value of hours, not a guarantee of savings. How much you recover depends on the causes of losses, and you learn those only after measuring.
- If you do not know your OEE, that is normal. Most plants learn it only after the first month of measurement. Expand "Calculate it from three components" under the sliders.
