NCR
Non-Conformance Report
A record of a non-conforming product: what, how many, why and what decision.
An NCR ends with a disposition: rework, use as is (concession), return to supplier or scrap. Without a record the decision remains an agreement at the machine that nobody can reconstruct later.
What it looks like in the system
An NCR is created straight from an out-of-tolerance measurement, with the defect and cause picked by the operator. The disposition, affected quantity and scrap quantity are recorded with the report.
